We are very proud to announce that the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Organization of American States (OAS) have released a new study, carried out by the two institutions with the support of the Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre.

The 2016 Cybersecurity Report, Are we ready in Latin America and the Caribbean? is important in several ways:

• It is the first time so many countries have been assessed using the same methodology (and the CMM is the most thorough model ever developed, looking at multiple aspects of cybersecurity);
• It allows participating countries to better understand their state of cybersecurity maturity, enabling them to target activities effectively;
• It allows researchers to develop an understanding of working practices, including technical data on each of the countries and key elements such as the legal status and the capacity of each country to respond to incidents;
• It allows the Inter-American Development Bank to prioritise and target funding to member-states to maximise impact across the region.
